How I work with you

I’m a little bit like a detective, a client will present with an issue and I then work out “whatdunnit” so to speak. Leading on from there I deliver therapy which for the majority leads to significant and positive change and ultimately relief. Those clients who come to see me are all very different individuals who have one vital thing in common – they have ALL made the decision to heal, grow and change, and my job is to guide them safely through that process.

I am totally committed to my work in improving the quality of my clients’ lives.

The sessions are scheduled to suit my clients’ often busy working and/or family schedules. The emphasis on finding out the root cause of my client’s presenting problem, and how I can best guide them to achieve what they want from therapy – is I believe an absolutely critical part of getting the best results.

The bit before taking the first steps

I know from personal experience that taking the first step, recognising and understanding the need for asking for help can be a difficult process for many.

What do I do? Who can I talk to? What will this achieve? How long will it take? Where do I get help?

We can go through entire periods of our lives hiding behind a veneer or façade, a happy face or a lengthy list of achievements, or a fear of success even, any of the above can be an effective way to conceal something that is bubbling far deeper or perhaps just below the surface. Some prison sentences are shorter….

And we are masters of disguise – until one day that process of orbiting our lives around a 7 day week 365 days per year becomes simply too exhausting and one day, out of nowhere, we have a sudden awakening and an awareness that we know it’s time to seek out positive change. This is where I come in.

Over and over again, I hear clients telling me all sorts of things ranging from how wonderful their lives are, or that they have a comfortable home and a loving family, a decent career and a lifestyle to envy, and in spite of so many positives and an absence of anything obviously negative, they are at pains to understand how and why they feel so anxious, or sad, or that they just can’t explain their deeply unhealthy or unwanted habits or feelings or perhaps they are plagued by a lack of sleep, the list goes on. Regardless of how good everything seems on the surface – deep down, something is not quite right.

Please note, there is always a root cause to any of the above.

And just the mere thought of seeking any sort of help may seem to them to be a weakness or failing on their part and then to add to that – throw in some negative self talk to this process and the whole thing can be emotionally draining, making one feel at a total crossroads, an emotional standstill and generally stuck in the mud.

Thankfully, there is so much help available in these moderns times, and as the speed of technology has advanced, luckily so has the world of modern therapy. It is important to note that ultimately, therapy can enable clients to move away from old issues, with the ability and the freedom to lead happier and healthier lives.

Therapy is a life changing process for my clients.

Therapies I use

BrainWorking Recursive Therapy ®

I use BrainWorking Recursive Therapy® and I am a Registered Advanced Practitioner and Member of the BWRT® Institute. BWRT® is a unique and progressive therapy that I personally love using it for it’s sheer power and effectiveness. I see the results on a daily basis in my clients.

One particular client popped in to see me recently for a session and exclaimed: “I feel so alive it’s incredible”.

It’s comments such as these which makes me know that I’m doing the right thing.

It is solution-focused and fits comfortably with current thinking on neuroscience.

Some years ago, Terence Watts the founder of BWRT®, whilst reading an article in The New Scientist about an experiment by the scientist Benjamin Libet, realised that by making available the data gap in the brain, discovered by Libet, he would be able to develop one of the most arguably effective therapies known to man. He called it BWRT. The rest is history.

Hypnotherapy – Transforming Therapy

I also use hypnotherapy in the form of Transforming Therapy to quickly unlock the mysteries of any presenting problem, including fears, phobias, anxieties and low self esteem, lack of confidence and many other issues and symptoms. I trained and qualified as a hypnotherapist with the globally renowned Marisa Peer and I am furthering my skills with Paul Howard of the Surrey Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy who is a leader in the field of hypnotherapy training.

It is a safe and effective therapy for which I can enthusiastically vouch for having had it myself. I love the feedback from clients.
